it’s in the game

Champion:

Kingmakers
For the second year in a row, the Kingmakers have won the Red Zone and taken home the Schadenfreude!
Congratulations to Sean and his scrappy team! It was looking shaky there heading into the championship game, but the Kingmakers came up big with season-best performances by Tee Higgins (34.60), Devonta Smith (27.00), Adam Thielen (25.50), and McMillan (20.50). All that was enough to offset a goose egg from Henry and negative points from the Colts D alongside some solid performances by the usual suspects. It even got dicey at the end with the Ertz performance, but Goff (25.82) and the Lions proved themselves and saved the day!
The true Team of Destiny in 2024!
P.S. – Sean you need an actual logo at this point. Please submit 3 options in the style of the rest of the league by August 2025. Maybe use those winnings from the Empire Pot to get an artist to design something!
Runner-Up:

Northside Angels
The Northside Angels are looking Billsesque at this point. 0-2 in the past two years of championship games in the RedZone. They can hang their laurels on being 2-2 in championship games overall, but man the wins would be appreciated and the cash choice for the ski trip this year. NSA will have to cry himself to sleep in the Austrian Alps in consolation…
Kingmakers seem to have NSA’s number in the championship games. NSA put up a great game even with Chuba being put on IR last minute. Alas, 174.73 points weren’t enough even with Mahomes (26.00), Kelce (22.40) and Ertz (25.20) having some of their best games of the season. Though Ertz made Sean sweat a little on that overtime TD!
Maybe next year the top seeds will pick better so NSA doesn’t have to face the Kingmakers in the finals next year…
Personal Note:
I’d like to give a great big thank you to Ryan Tibstra, my brother, for co-managing the Angels this year, especially while I was on my thru hike of the Superior Hiking Trail. His pick-up of Fields early in the season is why I made it to the championship alongside his great advice and line-up setting.
Thanks a big one bro!

THE BATTLE OF THE TOP 2 SEEDS, LOOK AT THEM NOW
What a finish! As I was writing most of this Sunday evening in an early sign of losing despair, it seemed like it was pretty one sided, but the 3rd place game came down to the wire as well! Daniels is a beast and, unfortunately for the Inmates, is up for grabs next year!
Brock Purdy (30.28) made some great moves to get himself paid before getting injured and Geurendo (11.9) and St Brown (16.00) were enough to finish strong for the Inmates, elevating them to a 144.55 to 132.04 victory over the Gypsies.
| River Gypsies | 132.04 | 144.55 | Fulton Jail Inmates |
Take home that money Inmates! May it help cover some of those legal bills! (I kid, I kid)
The Best of the Rest
The Outlaw Nation and Twin City Tree Cats faced off in a furious battle for 5th place after the Outlaws foolishly chose NSA in the first round (a similar thing occurred to the Inmates in the semis) and lost in a nailbiter! The Cats themselves got spanked by the Kingmakers, losing by 101 points in what might have been the most points scored this season.
In the battle for the best of the rest, the Tree Cats handedly won over the Outlaw Nation 1634.10 – 132.57.
Reports indicate the Outlaws were relieved they didn’t progress to the next round only to lose there in a close match up.
Rejects Rumble

| Team | Record |
| 90 Degree Putters | 3 – 0 |
| Big City Hillbillies | 1 -2 (PF: 387.05) |
| Troll Hunters | 1 -2 (PF: 384.99) |
| HAMR’D in the Stands | 1 -2 (PF: 362.80) |
The surging Putters finished strong securing a 3-0 record to win the Rumble. Our soon to be renamed team can hold their head high knowing that they doubled their win total of the regular season in the post season! Way to go Chris! Knew you had it in you!
The bottom of the Rumble was an exciting finish with everyone either winning or losing to make this a battle of Points For tallied amongst the rejects! And I have to say, overall, everyone kept it up and put up some good points, with HAMR’s being the only one not to cross 100 in each match. That’s what we like to see!
| – | HAMR’D | Trollhunters | Big City Hillbillies |
| 1 | 145.93 | 133.67 | 121.63 |
| 2 | 126.24 | 128.81 | 123.52 |
| 3 | 90.63 | 122.51 | 141.90 |
| Total | 362.80 | 384.99 | 387.05 |
With the above PF breakdown, our Participant for this year is: HAMR’D IN THE STANDS.
Congratulations! Expect your plaque in the mail soon!

Thanks for a great year again in 2024! Looking at the records of everyone in the playoffs and a couple who weren’t shows it was a close year! Nice work!
We have a full reset due to the Empire Clause being triggered, so no keepers next year. Everyone starts fresh!
Chris B, you also have until August to formalize a team logo. I would definitely recommend a cartoon version of our President’s mugshot if you can pull it off! #poorgrovercleveland
Expect the money to come shortly, at least once my Venmo stops acting up. And we rummage through the couch cushions for the Empire Pot.
P.S. – Kingmakers get to rename 90 Degree Putters.
P.P.S – Hope the new website is looking ok. Expect more improvements to come (I foresee a lot of free time this month) and hopefully a return of the blog posts. I know we got a lot busier over time, but I loved it and will try to keep posting.
I do hope for a classic Wheeler draft review this year though, now that he’s got a big boy job finally ๐
P.P.P.S. – I’m bringing back renaming 50-point losers next year. You have been forewarned.
