Week 2 Recap with the Commish

Welcome Welcome Welcome

Week 2 is in the books and we are starting to see a trend emerge! That trend is the Northside Angels losing! Injuries may be taking out the Outlaws! Is Josh Allen a bust? We’ll get to that last one later, but our main story tonight is of course the recap of the Week 2 Matchups! Let’s get into it!

302 Cadets vs. Twin City Tree Cats

302 Cadets (Come on change your name back Derek) won a commanding match-up against the white-hot Tree Cats.

The Tree Cats were coming off the highest score last week with the number 1 QB and Player Josh Allen. Unfortunately, TCTC drove itself into a snowbank and instantly cooled off for the lowest score of the week and season so far at 83.80. Josh Allen (11.82) crashed back to earth alongside a few dollar bills of TJ Hockenson (2.2) and Drake London (4.40). In finall humiliating fashion, Vikings wunderkind JJ McCarthy revealed Week 1s 4th quarter may be a fluke with a putrid score of 2.82. The rest of the team just did not have it with only 3 other players (Montgomery. Warren, and AZ Def) being above 10 points.

302 Cadets on the other hand did fairly well, tallying 116.85 points. Amon-Ra St. Brown backed up having the coolest name in the league with an explosive 34.7 points!

SUN GOOOOD

Baker Mayfield (19.8) continued his redemption tour with a great win and Kyler Murray (14) were the only other real good plays for 302. But when Ra is on your side, you will be blessed.

River Gypsies vs. Putt-Putt Bogey Boys

The River Gypsies re-established themselves as a high scoring monster this week tallying 158.21 points in his quest to remain relevant in the league!

The Gypsies rode to supremacy on the backs of Nabers (33.2) and Jonathan Taylor (28.5) who went absolutely off in terms of yardage and TDs. That’s a dangerous combo! Tua (18.6) remembered how to play this week and the Ravens Def remained stifling wiht 17.82 points. The vaunted TEs were respectable as well this week with both McBride and Kelce above 10 points and Bowers at 8.

The Bogey Boys had one of the better games this week, but unfortunately, they had to face the Gypsies. Achane (22.2) and Devante Adams (19.60) were his two high scorers, but it was a balanced attack that drove the Boys to their loss. There were really no actual problems with the Bogey Boys this week. Sometimes you can do all the right things and still lose. Just ask Picard.

Outlaw Nation vs Kingmakers

In what was the closest match up of the week, the Kingmakers continued their winning streak from last year with a 103.67 to 98.63 victory over the injury ridden Outlaw Nation. Normally this close a matchup would have been the Match of the Week, but I can’t give it to the wet noodle of the week.

Kingmakers led with Lamar Jackson (26.30) and McCaffrey (19.70) with a close follow up by Allen (14.6) and Chubb (14.2), but the rest of the squad was pedestrian at best. The Bronco’s D was a -3.21 wiping out Fields’ 3.98. It was enough though, mainly due to his opponents failures.

Outlaw Nation relies upon Derek Henry to be a good squad and 2.30 points from that engine is just a dog that don’t hunt! Mahomes (22.08), Pickens (15.30) and Dobbins (15.00) were really the only bright spots with mid single digits from everyone else.

The injury boom stick laid a final blow this week taking out Burrow (7.04) for most likely the rest of the season. Those negative prognostications are coming true seems like….

Troll Hunters vs. Big City Hillbillies

The big stick of the week goes to the Hillbillies with an utterly dominant 167.87 to 120.44 win over the Troll Hunters.

All but one player on the Hillbillies scored double digits, with the low score of 7.00 points from Garret Wilson being the lightest of anchors. Multiple other teams this week had at least 2 players score less than that each. Jordan Love (20.88), Javonte Williams (22.00) and Nacua (23.60) were his high scorers but what else is there to say for a team that averaged 16.7 points per player? Those hills are scary and the people from em are scarier!

Troll Hunters did pretty well this week, they just ran into the buzzsaw. Bo Nix (20.24) did well in his loss and Jayden Daniels (19.70) did ok as well, though he’s looking questionable for a week or two. Tyreek continues to be somewhat relevant with 13.90, and Deebo matched that score to keep the stack rolling! The Ladd (7.30) just couldn’t do much more than that and kinda represented the team for the week. Good, just not great. Onto next week!

Match of the Week!

Northside Angels vs. Fulton Jail Inmates

In our match of the week, the Inmates lived up to their picture and beat the good guys and may have started a reign of terror. This was the highest scoring match of the week combined and was within 7 points!

NSA had a great week from Chase (29.5) even without his QB. Let’s go Browning! Dak (22.14) and Jones (22.84) were top billing as well, but our boy Tucker Kraft was the real star of the week with 24.40. But as a write this he’s been hurt so it’s all crumbling down. Aaron Jones also was hurt and is now on IR, but it was mainly Sutton with 1.10 points that killed NSA this week. That and not starting Ferguson off the bench or Stevenson. Blah. 0-2.

The Trumpy Inmates were led to victory by a top-billing Goff (33.96) in his ridiculous beatdown of the Bears. Following up Goff was Drake May (26.30) and James Cook (26.00) to make a crazy strong ultimate dragon.

Egbuka had a solid 10.90 and is looking like one of the best rookies of the year. Chuba also continued looking good with 16.20 points. Consistency is king.

Josh Allen Report:

WeekPoints ScoredQB RankWeekly RankYear Long Rank

What a cratering after week 1 for Josh Allen. That $150 is looking a little less a good buy, but Allen gets to feast on some Dolphins this week. I’m sure he will bounce back!

In Memorium

I’d also like to take a minute to pour one out for Austin Ekeler. His injury is probably it for the RB, and it’s a sad one since he was a fantasy football king. Have a good one man! Heal up!
