Big City Hillbillies

For the second time, the Big City Hillbillies have won the RedZone Championship and taken the Schadenfreude to NYC!

Congratulations to Evan and his dominant team! A start to finish shellacking of the league with a dominant 11-3 record in the regular season alongside the highest Points For (2051.44) by over a hundred points.

The Hillbillies were spotted after the draft as the one most likely to win it all and it happened! Such a dominant team built on the backs of Bijan, Saquan, and Javonte in the RB alongside Puca and JSM in the WR slots. His QBs were also good to great, especially Lawrence in the final stretch! What a run!

Runner Up

It’s been really nice just being able to copy over the runner-up pictures from last year’s recap!

The Northside Angel’s Cinderella run came up short in the championship game against the Hillbillies. They were almost able to double their 2025 win count after squeaking into the playoffs under PF with a 3-11 record, but alas, all must fall short.

The Northside Angel’s teams were a scrappy one of studs and duds. They put up the highest points scored in an official matchup this year (207.14) and the fourth highest cumulative PF (1843.73) for the season alongside the highest Points Against (1965.04) by approximately 6 points. That’s how I went 3-11 Evan.

NSA would like to formally thank Dak, Chase, Daniel Jones, and Jake Ferguson for their contributions. Gibbs was a hero laid low by the football terrorist Dan Campbell.

The Northside Angels, as the Toilet Bowl champion, will be renamed for the 2026 season. Maybe that will break the Bills curse they have going on now being 0-3 in the last 3 years of championship games. NSA may actually be the team most present in RedZone Championships at 5 combined, but Wheeler would know best from those early days.

Third Place

I had to do a double take based on last years matchup, but it was confirmed. 2025 3rd Place Matchup was a rematch from last year! The River Gypsies vs. Fulton Jail Inmates.

But the results flipped!

The River Gypsies won the matchup against the Inmates this year! Congrats on 3rd place!

What’s really interesting is the RG only scoring 0.84 LESS than last year, but the Inmates dropping 30 points from last year’s score.

This is honestly hilarious, with the matchup being the same. Indeed 3/4 teams from last year made the same games as 2024, with only the Hillbillies rising out of the dungeon to take the place of the Kingmakers.

Best of the Rest

After being all high and mighty against the Northside Angels in Week 15 and getting spanked in turn by almost 50 points due to Pitts’ legendary game, the Bogey Boys ended their juggernaut run with a win against the Kingmakers for 5th place! 😛

The Kingmakers fell from their loftiness as a 2-year Champion to 6th place overall. Not too bad a fall to be honest. I think we have seen top to bottom before!

302 Cadets (nee HAMR’d) finished the year strong with 3 victories in the Rumble. Unfortunately, the same could not be true of the Troll Hunters who got beat 3 times in a row to end up this year’s Participant.

What a crazy final standings. That 3-11 in 2nd place may never be seen again. I am so sad I couldn’t re-name myself, but I’m sure the Hillbillies will find something appropriate for the Toilet Bowl Champion of the regular season!

The first year of the Shotgun Penalty has also been a fun one with both more beers shotgunned than originally intended and a tie between Outlaw Nation, Troll Hunters, and Twin City Tree Cats for total number of beers shotgunned/owed.

It’s also interesting those three are at the bottom of the table…mayhaps there’s a new way to judge team performance?!

I am making a commissioner decision that the Outlaw Nation will be awarded the newly created Quentin Johnson Shotgunner of the Year award based upon somehow starting QJ the 2 times he scored 0 points this season so far and being the first RedZone member to hit 3 beers shotgunned in a year. What a run by the guy who started this whole penalty!

TCTC owes us 2 beers shotgunned and Troll Hunters 1 prior to being allowed to draft next year. You are on the clock.
